The Scottish Tartans Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit
organization, directly funded by gift shop purchases. Your purchase
helps support our educational efforts to preserve and promote Scotland's
unique National Dress and the Scottish-American cultural community.

Tartan is sold by the yard at the following fee schedule.
All tartan is 100% New Worsted Wool and woven in Scotland. Please check the availability list
for each weight range before ordering -- not every tartan is available in
every range. If you have questions about the availability of a
particular tartan, please
contact us. If you do not see the tartan you desire listed below, that does not
necessarily mean that it is not available. We order our cloth from four
of the top woolen mills in Scotland. If your desired tartan is not
stocked by one of these mills, we will be glad to have it custom woven if
necessary. Click here for details. When you click on the availability list, a

new looms that will be producing cloth single width (32" wide), with a
traditional kilting selvedge. As the stock of double width tartans sells
out, each tartan will be rewoven in single width. During this
transition, your order may be supplied in either double or single width.
For example, an order for 4 yards may be supplied as either a 4 yard length of
54" wide cloth, or an 8 yard length of 32" wide cloth. If you need to
know in advance what width your tartan will be supplied in, please contact us
before ordering to allow us to check the status of your individual tartan.
